How many horses do you know who can spin and do quick stops and flying lead changes?  I’m not exaggerating when I say I’m a talented Quarter Horse.  My name is Diva and yes, as my name implies, I am a goddess.  What  makes me so special is that I have achieved greatness despite some major conformation faults and physical injuries.  I’m only nineteen years young, but my extra long back and overwork have caused by body to break down prematurely.  I have a bowed tendon and calcium deposits in my back legs caused by the strain of having the tendon problem. I still remember when I didn’t get enough to eat and I can’t help being very protective of my food.  I give the other horses major dirty looks if they get too close to my food bowl. I apologize if anyone finds this behavior rude. If you’ve ever been really hungry, you’d understand my food obsession.  I lost half of one eyelid so my eye gets cloudy and drains and affects my vision.  It’s annoying, but enough of that.  Let’s talk about all the good things that have happened to me since I met Marcia.

Despite all my trials and tribulations, I’m a very sweet mare.  I love all the kids at Marcia’s farm and they love me.  I get so excited when Jenna comes to visit, and no matter what I’m doing, I run to greet her. I used to be afraid to try new things, but Jenna talked me into dressing up like George Washington.  Imagine that!  I wonder what she’ll think of next. There are so many nice horses here.  Although Raven and I got off to a rocky start, we’ve become best friends.   At one time I was sooo skinny, but Marcia fattened me up and now I’m gorgeous.  I still have my physical problems, but Marcia does things that help me feel better.   She wraps my leg to keep the tendon tight.  The hemp she gives me helps keep the swelling down and she puts medication in my eye so I can see better.

I’m not a complainer and I don’t blame anyone for the things that happened to me before Marcia found me, but now I’m not just a talented and gorgeous goddess who dresses up like George Washington, I’m also a really lucky horse.  Is it time to eat yet?

Thanks for Reading my Story!!!
